Banquets / Large Dinners
The longest dining hall in Oxford
The College is home to the longest Dining Hall in Oxford and provides a magical setting for really special events. Seating over 300 people, the Hall is great for accommodating large groups and is the perfect venue for a banquet or gala dinner. Guests enter the Dining Hall after coming up the grand staircase from Liddon Quad, a path trodden by students and Academic Fellows for nearly 150 years.
When arriving into Keble College, you will be greeted by our magnificent Liddon Quad. This is a popular area for having a welcome drinks reception and wowing your guests. With space for a marquee, drinks and canapes station, as well as garden games/photoshoots, you will be able to enjoy the start of your celebrations before moving up to Hall for your Banquet Dinner.
Since it opened in its current form in 1878 Keble has welcomed diners from all walks of life to eat in one of, if not, the most impressive hall in Oxford.
Set out with High Table directly opposite the two sets of double entrance doors, guests enter the Hall to three lines of fixed wooden tables and benches which conjure images of Hogwarts and Harry Potter. Portraits of benefactors and prominent Keble alumni look down on guests from the oak panelled walls, whilst the original stone fireplace sits opposite the Minstrels gallery from where the choir may sing for Formal College dinners.
Grade 2 listed
The College Bar, which is a Grade 2 listed glass building, is a short walk from the Dining Hall in Hayward Quad. Our bar is ideal for pre-dinner drinks or for entertaining guests wishing to network or celebrate after the main event.
